Tofugu Comments: Anime on Hulu: Not all that bad, surprisingly

  • Viet · 1 year ago
Just a note... I've read that some countries outside the USA, specifically those in neighboring Europe, may not be able to access Hulu.

edit: Just did a quick Google, and it seems the service is also not accessible in the Asia realm and Australia. Apologies to our foreign readers if we got your hopes up.

It's also not available for Europe. At least, not for the Netherlands anyway.
I see the "error message" where the video's supposed to be.

It's not even available in Canada! I mean, for God's sake, it's CANADA! Same continent! Everyone else across the world can't even discern the difference between our two countries! Gah!

Even americans can't tell the difference! :P Sorry it doesn't work up
there, and in europe, or anywhere else, folks :(

OMFG....thank you so much, Koichi. I tried the hotspot shield software and it WORKS. I used to get my TV streams from Sidereel.com and TVliveshows.com but they were pretty poor in quality (broken links, unfinished episodes, small viewing screens, pixlelated) but Hulu.com totally rocks. I don't think they have everything (Battlestar Galactica is missing Season 2), but hey, it's free s*** so no complaints over here.

yeah, a lot of the newer stuff only does the newest episodes (they
want you to buy older seasons). It's good if you want to watch the
newest episodes of things as they come out, or watch really really old
shows where they do have entire seasons, etc. For example, I just
watched all of Arrested Development from start to finish, and it was
    great :)

I was browsing around for alternate ways to watch hulu. It looks like the only decent way to do it, is to purchase a private VPN account. I highly doubt hulu can ban them all. I purchased mine from www.hidemynet.com , they provide UK and US servers currently, so I can also login to the UK server to access online video offered in the UK :). Like, Iplayer, Channel 4 on demand, bbc, etc. And it's only 5$/month, beats having to deal with the hassles of using hotspot shield (which is now banned anyway).
