Alternatives to Rosetta Stone Japanese (i.e. Should I buy Rosetta Stone?)
I've looked into JET a bit, but as I'm not quite even out of high school...it's quite a ways away.
We'll see if I actually decide to do it after college. :)
Thanks for the resource!
I actually met someone who was part of the JET program at one point, but is now just an English teacher in the high school I went to while I was there. We didn't really go into deep discussion about it. It does sound like a pretty cool program though.
Maybe teach in Japan one day, but through other methods.
I think it's "without further ado". "Ado" is like fuss or mess. "Adieu" is farewell.
We'll see if I remember it's "ado" next time - I'm guessing not, but maybe we can keep it as an inside joke, hehe.
contents already available! :P
Me? I got real lucky. You can choose up to three locations and I picked all three in the Kansai area because that's where I did my study abroad and that's where my then-girlfriend lived. They listened to me and sent me to Osaka. Admittedly, it's the most rural area in all of Osaka, but it is in Osaka and there's sufficient public transportation to get me to and from work each day, which is nice because I don't want to drive in this country.
So now I live in Kansai with my wife (we got married right away actually) and everything is going great. I strongly recommend the JET Programme to anyone who is interested SO LONG AS you keep in mind that your requests may be completed ignored. But if you let that ruin your experience, that's your own fault. My friend in Nagasaki is having a great time.
Sigh, I applied for the JET program when I was in college and was completely rejected. I'm still scarred by the experience. Well, not really.
YMMV

Happy Holidays!

Actually I was an alternate for about 2 days at first but then got picked up quickly thereafter.
Great experience to come abroad, but damn if I wasn't bored during the working hours...
