This isn't really on the subject of marrying jap celebs but on music - so sorry about that

Hmm, on regards with women i can see what ur saying...... but
1)Koda Kumi is a slag
2)If you go slightly away from pop and more into j-reggae or j-hiphop u can get more girls that seem to have attitude and dont act so cutsey cutsey all the time. Even the rock chicks act cute.

However not having seen many interviews about them or anything i cant be sure and don't really know personality. There is a few i'd love to meet for sure but wouldn't marry just because they look good. A note slightly off this, if u wanna see the problem with the lack of lozengers in japan, go here-

Seems to be far to much violin in japanese pop/hiphop/rock thesedays and not as much exciting stuff.
Generaly the good hiphop, reggae or rap artists come from yokohama. Its certainly the centre for that kind of music in japan especially reggae. Pony Canyon records are toward the pop side of these ones and there are alot of not well known but good artists in this genre.

Amuro Namie is so popular and has been for quite a while now.
There are quite a few artists that consist of 2 women like SOULHEAD and Faith. In that case there is sometimes too much oooohhhh, yeaahhhhhh ooooo, if u know what i mean. But they do come out with some right ones. Sparta Locals is a great Indie rock band, worth searching for! Orange range is quite interesting if u like the sort of thing they do. I don't know much about the popular rock bands or goth and emo stuff in japan. Neither do i know about techno or electronica much. If i had to i would gladly investigate them and also the history of music in japan and find out how some were introduced if i could.

A note for people trying to learn japanese from lyric translation - don't!!!!! There is too many different verb endings and pronunciation is different to speaking and if u are a girl u start using boku and ore bc they use it in songs.

i think utada hikaru is good choice. her music isn't typical japanese that people like like morning musume. i think her unique childhood of living in america and japan makes her more accesssible. i believe she's one of the few japanese ppl that is visisble is america and could break through in the music market if done correctly (reference to her exodus album).
nakama yukie i think is really cute and funny. she's a singer/actress/idol. i like her dramas a lot. go watch gokusen and trick.
i always had an odd appeal for chiaka kuriyama after seeing her in kill bill and battle royale.

i don't know about japanese male celebs. for some reason i think odagiri joe is popular (maybe amoung old ladies). the guys in rip slyme or m-flo are funny, but i think most are taken.

There's a few of Japanese celebrities that I find attractive though. Including Masaharu Fukuyama. He is pretty hot but maybe a little old for me.

In regards to Onimusha Nosferatu first choice, Hikaru Utada, I would most likely choose to marry her. Being the fact that I don't no much about other Japanese celebrities, limits my choices. I find is incredibly attractive that she does know both sides of the world; living in New York and Japan. Also knowing how to speak English is a plus in my book, let alone singing in it. I think I first noticed her when I heard "Simple and Clean". After that, I was just a complete fan of all her work and follwed her ever since. Furthermore, she just recently divorced in March (2 day before my birthday lol), so marrying here wouldn't be so far fetched.

Second choice is completely out of the loop because she's not even Japanese, but Korean. However, she has stared on some Japanese dramas and other TV shows. Second choice would Yoon Son-Ha, even though she's quite older than me.

[BONUS] And just for kicks Koichi, IF... If you had to choose any one of the members of MoMu to marry, who would it be and why? Haha... Personally I would choose Yoshizawa Hitomi, just because I think she's the member that does the least of that cutesy crap. Which makes sence because she's suppose to have kind of a tom-boyish personality, but I also find it weird because in some of the videos I've seen her in, it looks like she has an adams apple. lol but whatever...

it's odd i wouldn't want to marry a celebrity, but be their friend. utada is a really well rounded person. i don't like MoMu, but that one that did the surprise englis lessons seems nice cuz she's not uber happy and annoying.

I also have no idea of the pop culture kings and queens of Japan, but if I could, I would marry Shigeru Miyamoto and name our sons Mario and Luigi Miyamoto.

That would be flippin awesome.

Otherwise, I'm just a fangirl who'd probably sleep with Akira Toriyama or Kubo Tite or Masashi Kishimoto and his brother Seishi AT THE SAME TIME.

And if I were a guy, I'd love to marry Sawai Miyuu, because she's cute and she looks great in a sailor uniform for the obvious reason as her role of Sailor Moon. Hell, wouldn't it be great to just have a honeymoon with Takeuchi Junko and have the voice of Naruto moan dattebayo in bed?

He's the perfect future husband. A Keio University graduate, majoring in Economy. His father works in the Foreign Minister, mother a lecturer (rumoured to be a conglomerate heir), a little sister who is also studying while doing part time modelling & a younger brother that Sakurai an-chan dotes on.
Sho made the decision to enter the jimusho on his own while still in school. His parents was against this at first but after the ARASHI debut announcement he promised to finish his studies & get a degree within 4 years which he eventually did with flying colours (fangirl is proud).

He got this deep soul that's pure and dark at the same time which is reflected by his cute boyish (11yr old) face but with a haunting brown eyes and the devilish smirk.
-Known for his acting talent: Letters From Iwo Jima (directed by Clint Eastwood), Yasashii Jikan, Haikei Chichiuesama, Ao no Hono and Stand Up. Every director or writers that has worked with him always noted how they are at awe with his talent.
-A musician: Plays various of instrument (guitar, bass, piano), dabbles in music rearrangement (Arashi songs sounds better with his touch), perform covers (Shibata Jun's Yume: she commented he'd performed it better than her, Yume de Ai Masho, Ulfuls songs etc, etc..), writes own songs. Try listening to Kako @ Konseki, Niji & Fight Song.
-A prankster, dry sense of humour, sarcastic but really charming nonetheless
-all round talented young guy
-very intriguing addicting real life character.

3# Ohno Satoshi
A beautiful 27yr old guy with amazing artistic talents but not comfortable being in the lime light.

Being a Johnny's artiste supporter is a scary thing. You are bombarded with tonnes of information about them, eventually you'll get addicted. You can subscribe to their daily nikki, monthly idoru magz (POTATO, Wink-Up, Duet etc,etc..), download their own variety shows (Arashi no Shukudaikun, Mago mago Arashi, Dohmoto Kyoudai, Mentore G, blablabla) & a whole community of fans that feed you with uwasa & age old history of your fav idoru. It'll come to the point of wishing you are married to them already ^^;;;

Still, I'm glad to be a fan. Arashi are like prozak.

welp when U said Koichi doesnt need that I said YES HE DOES!! Koichi Domoto is wayyyy too hott for anyone except for me. He is sooo hott he loves kids he can dance he writes songs he plays 5 instruments, and he also writes adorable things in HIS blog! LOL Sorry Koichi but I disagree with wot u said about Koich cos Koichi is sooo sexxxxxxxxxxy he composes Endless Shock which he performs every year in Tokyo I live in America but I would do almost anything to go see him and to go backstage. I’[m not a scary fangirl but it is almost bordering on it LOL

But if I think of the reasons, I can get pretty good ones.

I don't think I would want to marry any celebrities, but I think I would love to go to Japan, meet them and if possible, (which really isn't) become their friends.

I think I would gladly meet (and probably squeal) any member(s) of ARASHI because they're just such a great group of males. And maybe members of NewS as well, but ARASHI has to be on the top of my list. They're talented, original, dorky, sexy, clever, and all-round wonderful. Aishoni has described two of the most popular members and I'll try my best to describe the other three.

Ohno Satoshi
- a great singer; most consider him as one of the greatest singer in Johnny's Entertainment.
- He is an artist in all sense of the word; he likes working with clay and made 100 clay figures one summer (I'm not sure if this is this summer or not..) and has a section called 'O no Arashi' (a nicely crafted pun) on their weekly TV show. He randomly picks two photographs from 100 or so flipped photographs and tries his best to draw a combination of the two, and then the members discuss how much they would buy it for xD. - He is a very good dancer and often choreographs.
- He is the leader of ARASHI because he won a round of Rock-Paper-Scissors, but unlike most leaders, he leads by presence, not by having any leading qualities. Though all members consider him as the fearless leader anyway, because he has the guts to eat anything, including 10 years old canned food.

Matsumoto Jun
- Youngest member and most popular member of ARASHI. Most fans go searching about ARASHI because of Matsumoto Jun has been in a lot of very famous Japanese Dramas including Gokusen, Kimi wa Petto and the recent Hana Yori Dango I & II. Due to the numerous happenings of this phenomenon, fans have named this as the 'Jun bait'.
- Although very popular, he has quite a bad temper and is slightly isolated. However lately, he's been more outspoken and open about himself, probably due to him maturing over the years.
- Is the most fashionable member. He paints his nails and changes his hairstyle very often. He had a hair extension before filming Hana Yori Dango II, which most fans dislike, to say the least.
- He is a accomplished show host. He has hosted the Music Show called Utawara with Matsuura Aya and Wada Akiko (and others whose names I don't know) which ended early this year.
- Entered Johnny's without an interview, just with an application.

Aiba Masaki
- The 12-year old cutie with a very wired but clever brain. He is the least intelligent of ARASHI, but he has very curious personality and totally original imagination. His section on their weekly TV show is called A no Arashi, which includes him taking on experiments of the weirdest nature including sailing a boat made out of cardboard, eating hot curry in -50 degress Celsius weord, making a three-minute hourglass finish in less than three minutes, etc.
- Is a show host for the TV show Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen. Aiba Masaki is great with animals, and he goes abroad to different zoos in difference countries to help out. - He can play the saxophone (among other instruments) but he had pneumothorax and could not continue playing.
- Possibly the most entertaining member.

Being a major fangirl I would say seek from the former band Psycho Le Cemu. He is responsible, great with children, a big goof (yeah I like that XD), friendly and really social. He has that kind of "the guy next door" personality. I love his piercings (the guy has 9 piercing on his face!), his style (he dresses like an old man, it suits him very well) and I find him attractive.

A good one is Utada Hikaru. She's real pretty, and she has an awesome voice(Unlike me...). If you know the game Kingdom Hearts(KH), she wrote both of the opening songs from KH1 and KH2. She is my favorite singer. Another good one is Nami Tamaki, but I don't think she's Japanese. She may be Chinese. She wrote my third favorite song, and she has some good techno remix songs in cunjunction with her sweet and great voice. I couldn't tell what language she was singing in, but if you wanna check it out, the song is called "Final Memory".(I am nothing like her(being humble again!!))

I'm unsure as to whether you wanted an opinion of a male or female partner, but as I agree with your speculation of "Japanese girls do seem similiar", I'll answer your question using a male figure.

I personally think that despite the fact Gackt is such a wide spread and favoured individual for his music and looks, it's his talents and general characterization of himself that strike me most attractive. Without going into a whole biography of his life, to say that someone can speak multiple language (French, Japanese, English and Mandarin) is rather impressive, no? Not to mention he has a well balanced diet, enjoys his physical fitness, is environmentally friendly, imaginative (he's 400 years old apparently) and without even trying he has the natural ability to be humourous.
This is speaking out of admiration, more than fangirlism just so you're aware.

Oguri shun is a pretty good candidate for marriage. very handsome to me, and a very versatile actor. From playing a soft rich boy to his current badboy role in Crows Zero, he is very talented. He is also so very polite in real life and values friendship alot! he is perfect lol. I don't know there is just something about him, he has this charm no one else has i guess. Hmmm and for a woman, have you seen Kimi Wa Petto? I think the main actress is Koyuki, but she is a very beautiful person. Looks and personality wise. If I were a guy, I'd jump on her in a second lol. anyways that's my 2 cents!

Well, I'm not surprised that the boys of arashi have already been mentioned here. Although I would have to say, as a fan myself, I'd like to make my personal choice of Ohno Satoshi because, well, I just think we would jive very well. But if we're talking about Mr. Perfect, among them I really think it would be Sakurai Sho, although I'm attracted to him in the same way. Do I still have to put references? They're there. haha

If I were a guy, I'd proabably date (not sure about marry) either Inoue Mao (of Hana Yori Dango fame) or Ueno Juri (of Nodame Cantabile fame). Mao (who is often and a large fanbase is of her pairing with HYD co-star Matsumoto Jun of Arashi) is so cute and very vivacious. She's so lively and she's just a simple girl.

Ueno Juri I think is the same although now in her new drama she's become a bit more daring in her character. I'm only a slight fan of Masami actually, I haven't seen much of her work but I do understand why a lot of people picked her. :)

If I could, the Japanese celebrity I'd probably want to marry would be Miyavi. A stage name, mind you; no one knows his full name, although I'm pretty sure his last name is Ishihara. He is a successful Jrocker/solo artist and is currently in a super-group with fellow Jrockers Gackt, Yoshiki and Sugizo as the guitarist. He has just completed his world tour titled, "This Iz the Japanese Kabuki Rock 2008." I went to his concert here in San Francisco back in May, and seeing him live just made me fall even more in love with him. I was amazed at his stage presence, and overall, I just admire his talent in music. In the Japanese media, I think he's known for being a little crazy on camera and was once accused of taking drugs~ but personally, I just think he's hyper for a man his age. I love his style; he's known to be part of the visual kei movement currently happening in Japan. He's also known to love children and wants one of his own, which is exactly what I would want in a husband. (Although, if I ever did marry him, my mom would NOT approve. She would take one look at his face and attire, and in her Asian accent, whisper loudly enough for him to hear, "Not for boy!")

I also think Saito Tomohiro, or Mizushima Hiro, as is his stage name, is a good candidate for being a husband. I don't know much about him, but I admire his acting skills and his desire for learning more about the English language, which is something I can relate with learning the Japanese language. I believe a lot of people know him as Dorm Leader #2 in the Japanese version of Hana Kimi and Soshi in the popular drama, Zettai Kareshi.

There are other people I'd love to marry also, but I don't have a really GOOD reason for liking them.
Satoshi, vocalist from Jrock band, girugamesh, because I love his screams. (sound weird, much??).
Takeru, vocalist from Jrock band, SuG, because I love his dimpled smile.
Kai, drummer from Jrock band, the GazettE, because I love the fact that he can actually COOK (a definite quality a husband should have) and he also has dimples!!
Mastuyama Ken'ichi, actor, because he played L from Death Note and I'm a total fangirl for L.

Katori Shingo from SMAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah! He's the perfect guy! At least, for me! He's sooooooo talented!!!!!!! And hilarious!!!! He's good at everything he does! Well, not very good at singing but he tries it hard and I like that in a man!! He also belongs to one of Japan's legendary j-pop groups! He sings, he dances, he can be so sweet in doramas, he cooks, he gets along really well with children. He has to fight with a bo in a movie and he does it well, he has to make pottery for one of his tv shows and he does it well too. He loves drawing... He's a real artist! He's not afraid of being ridiculous and makes laugh so much!!!! As you can see, I definitely I wanna marry SHINGO!!!!! Oh! And he's soooooooooo handsome and sexy!!!!

The celebrity I would would mari is Yaguchi Mari. Not only she is beautiful, she has an incredible voice, she's the type of girl you would protect with your life. Always smiling and all, and I bet she is a very kind and social person. My second celebrity would be Ishikawa Rika, like Mari she's beautiful, but she seems more like the shy type, the one you would hug all day long and stay forever by her side.
That would be my 2 choices :P

Def Oguri Shun. He's a very promising actor. I watched 200 Days in Oguri Shun's life too and he seems very down-to-earth, and hardworking, too... doesn't seem to care much about the limelight, rather exerts much effort of not letting all the fame get into his head.

Then there's Ohno-kun and Jun-kun from Arashi, in that order. Ohno sometimes seems autistic (in a funny way) during interviews and their shows, he's like funny without even trying, it's always such a treat to watch him. And Jun, well, Jun is the reason I got hooked to J-dramas, J-pop, and J-everything anyways. Very gorgeous and interesting personality. He's the kind of celebrity you desperately want to have all figured out. xx

it's funny how people are saying they wanna marry celebrities. yeah yeah. sure celebrities seem very awesome and cool and has this and that. i'm not saying they aren't. But you can't judge a book by it's cover.. well, i don't know if this saying is actually related to the situation but i wanna clarify that we should know the actual person deep inside not by watching movies and that. i sure do wanna meet up with celebrities and be friends with them.. not marrying- that's just too much.
